Joy sets the standard in real estate settlements. She has conducted over 15,000 real estate settlements throughout the course of her career and brings that experience to work with her every single day. This level of experience makes unraveling tricky title matters or resolving potentially sticky situations second nature. It is Joy’s priority to make sure all parties have an excellent settlement experience and the reason why buyers and sellers request her again and again. Second only to handling settlements, Joy’s love is being a real estate continuing education instructor. Teaching dozens of classes per year, her goal has always been to make the toughest required classes the most enjoyable.
Joy has worked with the Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors, Contracts and Forms Committee for over 10 years and was named the GCAAR Affiliate of the Year for 2014. A native Washingtonian, Joy received her JD from American University and is a real estate attorney for the District of Columbia and Maryland as well as a licensed title agent in Virginia.
When not in the office, Joy may be out on an antiquing adventure or found commiserating with her chickens in her large organic garden. Want to know more?

When not in the office Lindsay, a 4th generation Washingtonian and a Redskins fan since birth, spends her time enjoying live music, skiing, traveling and running. She enjoys volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and the Boys and Girls Club of DC.
Lindsay brings litigation and insurance underwriting work experience to our team. In addition, her degree in Marketing and Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis and her JD from American University make her well prepared for busy days. During her 3 years with Settlement Ink, Lindsay has worked with residential and commercial buyers and sellers all over the DC Metro area. She is a Maryland and DC barred attorney and has experience ranging from first-time buyers to empty nesters, new construction to cooperative units, short sales to foreclosures and everything in between.

Cydney has been around the real estate and settlement business her entire life. After graduating from Indiana University Bloomington she spent time in New York where she garnered extensive experience in the marketing and events industry. She thrives in a fast-paced environment and has an astute attention to detail making her a perfect fit as a part of our pre-closing team.
She lives in DC with her husband and rescue puppy, a lovable boxer/lab mix named Bugsy.

Heather moved to the DC area after graduating from an Appalachian college in Athens, Ohio, where she grew to love the great outdoors and helping others thrive while obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. She was a part of a co-ed service fraternity that revolved around community support and service, which led her to realize she would always want to continue being supportive to those in need in her community. Before joining the Settlement Ink team, Heather spent several years honing her interpersonal and multi-tasking skills at a law firm that represents injured people around the DMV. Serving her clients and making sure they get the representation and support they expect and deserve continues to be a top priority for her. With retail and customer service in her background as well, Heather adds a friendly and attentive presence to the office.

Fatou keeps our office running smoothly with her stylish, personable and professional manner. She speaks English, French and Bambara fluently and easily converses with clients of all backgrounds. We are so fortunate to have her back organizing and executing our client events following a brief time abroad with her family in her native country of Mali.
She brings such a positive attitude to the entire closing process and greatly enjoys working with our clients while assisting in every aspect of pre-closing.
Fatou has a Masters in Finance from Central Missouri State University and lives in Potomac, Maryland. Her hobbies include dancing, traveling and reading. She is an avid fan of all sports especially soccer, football and basketball.
